ARCA Unlimited was appointed to accommodate this restaurant in the existing Centurion Crescent shopping centre. The topographical elevation of the centre provides a view over Centurion and the utilisation of this feature had to be maximised in the design. It was also important to combine the Ed’s Diner design language with the style of a traditional 50s diner. The new restaurant features an industrial kitchen, general restaurant seating, ablution facilities and a private function area. The original shopping centre was extended to accommodate the restaurant. The addition of a second storey with large sliding windows allows diners to enjoy the view over the surrounding area. As Ed’s Diner in Centurion forms part of the Ed’s Diner franchise, the existing look and feel of the franchise is extended and adapted to suit the new space. The Ed’s Diner colour palette is toned down to integrate with metal-clad vaulted ceilings and glass pendant lights.
