Arca was commissioned to design a new holiday retreat within the exclusive Ingwelala Reserve in Limpopo Province following the loss of the original home in a devastating bushfire. While estate regulations required the replacement dwelling to remain within the original building footprint, the project presented a unique opportunity to reimagine the home entirely. The new design was carefully tailored to better reflect our clients’ lifestyle, creating a more functional and enjoyable living environment while strengthening the connection between the architecture and its remarkable bushveld setting. Natural materials, generous outdoor living spaces, and a refined architectural language were used to ensure the home sits comfortably within the landscape, allowing residents to experience the beauty of the reserve while enjoying a contemporary and resilient holiday retreat.
